António Palmeira exhibits at OPEN

by portal — 2007-02-15

“Art has this remarkable power of allowing senses’ influence… Each look addressed to the work turns into multifaceted images where the language used to describe it is not unique. We go from the observed work to the described work and here each universe fulfils its individual freedom, describing something that has not come from its senses, through their own universe. The initial message of the author is dissolved and at times is completely lost in the “Babel Tower” originated by the many readings that he himself has provided to each appreciator… It is then that art stops belonging to whom produces it… undertaking, at last, its universality.”

In António Palmeira’s words, this is the description of this exhibition entitled “Pintura d’escrita” (painting in writing). This exhibition is opened until the end of the month and can be visited during the day at OPEN.
